Enos Ngutshane - President

Enos Ngutshane is the IRFA President and Executive Committee Member of the Institute of Retirement Funds Africa (IRFA). He is an authority in Corporate Governance, Local Government, Rail Safety, Occupational Health and Safety. He has worked for different institutions such as, Gauteng Government as Deputy Director General, Wits Business School as lecturer, and South African Foundation for Public Management (SAFPUM) as a CEO. He was the Chairperson and a Trustee of the Prasa Provident Fund for 15 years.

Anthony Christopher Williams - Deputy President

Anthony Williams is the Deputy President and an Executive Committee Member of the Institute of Retirement Funds Africa (IRFA). He is the Chief Executive and Principal Officer of the SABC Pension Fund (and also the SABC Medical Scheme), positions he has held for 18 years. He is a Chartered Accountant (SA), and qualified as a Professional Principal Executive Officer in 2019. He has 25 years’ experience in the Retirement Fund Industry.

Wayne Hiller Van Rensburg

Wayne Hiller Van Rensburg is the former IRFA President. He has over 20 years’ experience in the retirement sector.  He is also a board member of The Insurance Sector Education and Training Authority. He has academic qualifications in law, financial planning and management.

Geraldine Fowler

Geraldine Fowler is the former IRFA Vice President and still serves as an Executive Board Member. She is also founding Director and CEO of GQM Fund Administrators. She has over 28 years’ experience in the industry in the areas of administration, consulting and trusteeship. She has held senior positions with Private Fund Administration and Consulting Houses. She has academic qualifications in insurance, business studies, financial planning and writing.

Thomas  Mketelwa

Thomas Mketelwa is a long serving employee of the eThekwini Municipality. He is currently appointed as the Deputy Head of Community Participation and Action Support Unit. He currently is the principal officer of the KwaZulu-Natal Municipal Pension Fund and the previous Chairperson and Trustee. He is an Executive Board Member of the IRFA.

 Amanda Khoza (BCOMPT, MBA, MDP-BBBEE)

Amanda has over 20 years’ experience in financial services, serving in a number of senior roles. She has worked in institutional investments, management accounting, transformation and research for companies listed on the JSE’s main board. Her roles have included the strategic development and implementation of business development programmes, writing and speaking engagements and development and management of transformation programmes. She previously served as a non-executive director of the ASISA ESD Fund, ASISA Foundation and the INSETA boards. She is currently a Director on the Institute of Retirement Funds Africa Board and serves as the Chairperson on its Transformation and Sustainability sub-committee. Her broad experience in governance structures and strategic roles positions her well in understanding the financial inclusion eco-system which she is passionate about.

Fiona Rollason (BA, LLB, LLM)

Fiona Rollason is the Group Head of Legal for Alexander Forbes. She has been in the employee benefits industry for over 20 years and has a wealth of experience particularly in Pension Law. Fiona participates in both the PLA and IRFA, being the current chair of the IRFA Legal and Tax Committee.

Mandla Nkosi

Mandla Nkosi is the Managing Director at INGCAMBU FIDUCIARY SOLUTIONS, an Authorised Financial Services Provider, that renders fiduciary solutions, legal and advisory services to corporate; institutional; union and retail clients. He has over 20 years of experience.

Vusi Mashile

Vusi Mashile has served as the Chairperson of the South African Municipal Workers National Provident & Pension Funds since 2009 and has been a member elected trustee of the Funds since 2004. He is a LED Projects Officer in the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Professor JV Du Plessis (Voet)

Voet Du Plessis is a Professor Emeritus Faculty of Law at the University of the Free State specialising in Labour Law and Retirement Fund Law. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa and a long serving Board member of IRFA and also serves on the Legal and Tax Committee of the Institute.

Pieter Cronje

Pieter Cronje heads up the Technical Department of Momentum. He spent some years at the Financial Services Board in the Pensions Department and has more than 28 years’ experience in the retirement fund industry. He has also published various articles regarding employee benefits.
